Designed to imitate a stonefly, hopper, or caddisfly, the Green Stimulator has proven itself to work in a variety of dry fly fishing situations and demands a spot in every trout fishing fly box. Hollow hair and ample hackle allows this fish fly to ride high and even hold a fairly heavy dropper fly. Whether tossing it during a hatch or using it as an attractor fly this pattern is always worth a few casts.

Green Drake, Trout Slayer

Green Drake, Trout Slayer

Your price: $1.50

These large insects are "trout candy" on our western streams - Green Drakes are large insects and evidently taste really good to trout. This pattern was custom designed by our RiverBum staff. and is the most effective pattern we have used to date. When Green Drakes hatch in good numbers the trout forget all other foods and target drakes only. In the Pacific Northwest region, look for them toward the end of the giant stonefly hatches; May & June on most rivers, but some spring creeks such as Oregon's Metolius River has strong late summer hatches as well.

Humpback Emerger, BWO

Humpback Emerger, BWO

Your price: $1.50

Baetis hatches, both Spring and Fall, provide the fly fisherman some of the most exhilarating fishing of the year. Although there are times during such hatches when even the novice can get a fair share of action, Blue Winged Olive hatches are typically some of the most demanding times in fly fishing. Fish that really key on BWOs require a proper imitation along with a good presentation. The Blue Winged Olive Humpback Emerger, created by Utah fly fishing guide, Jake Ricks, imitates an emerging insect during that critical stage between Emerger and just before fully hatching into a Dun. This pattern seems to fool even the pickiest of finicky trout.
