The Rainbow Warrior Tungsten Bead Black has become a top selling fly in our retail location and we are proud to offer it here. The thorax of this fly is rainbow dubbing which is a blend of different colors. We feel some of the reasons this fly is so productive is at least one of the colors will stand out in any fishing condition and the abdomen closely matches a midge pupa. The Rainbow Warrior works in almost any water but is hard to beat when fish are feeding on midges. This pattern works well in waters with sow bugs and will also work for a Mysis shrimp. The extra weight of the tungsten head makes this fly sink fast and makes this fly a great choice to trail off of a dry.

Brown Haze

Brown Haze

Your price: $1.50

Andy Carlson, a fly fishing guide on the Bitterroot River in Montana originated the Purple Haze fly pattern. The Brown Haze is a variation of the original with less purple in the pattern and more natural coloriton. This has been a very effective pattern in Montana and has become a popular dry fly in general. It is used to match Blue Wing Olives, Mahogany Duns, March Browns, Green Drakes, and Tricos.

Flashback Caddis Pupa, Tan

Flashback Caddis Pupa, Tan

Your price: $1.85

The Tan Flashback Caddis Pupa is a Caddis pupal pattern designed to imitate the deep pupal stage of the caddis, with an impressionistic representation of the translucent air sac surrounding the insects body. The tan shade best represents the Hydropsyche Caddis species found most commonly in most Western waters. As Gary LaFontaine noted in his book Caddis Flies having a good deep pupal pattern to fish as along the bottom just before an evening caddis hatch can be the key to moving fish before they transition to the hatching insect. The Tan Flashback Caddis Pupa would be just such a pattern to have in your Caddis fly assortment.
