So, yeah, we don't get it either. Apparently fish like the protein in regurgitated kibble. We do get that stoneflies are an easy meal with high food value and they will pull even the largest fish out of their deep dark hiding places. The Stone, Dog Puke, Golden, Trina's is probably the most realistic adult Golden Stonefly pattern available. The extended foam body with ThinSkin shell exactly matches the color and profile of an adult egg laying Stonefly. The realistic silicon rubber legs add lifelike motion to the fly and the synthetic underwing and elk hair overwing round out the bug by providing a realistic silhouette. Fish in many tailwaters make sowbugs the staple of their diet and this pattern seems to fool them nearly every time. The mix of translucence and various colors is virtually irresistible. Jake tells us that he once caught the same fish twice in about 10 minutes on this fly on the famous Lower Provo River tailwater. Sounds pretty irresistible to us! |
